Current spot
2024-present
Our current spot has been our best home yet. It gave Dark Neon more room to grow, plenty of free parking for clients, car guards on site, and a space that feels organised and professionally managed. There are restaurants and shops around us, a good amount of food traffic, clean facilities, and most importantly, enough space for us to keep building Dark Neon into what we always wanted it to become.
Greenside
2022-2024
Greenside definitely had its perks. Probably the best one was having Jack's Bagels right below us - their food was amazing, and honestly, it still is. The space itself was really cozy with wooden floors in some areas, a great landlord, and some incredible sunset views. It had a lot of character and became an important chapter in the Dark Neon story. It wasn't without its problems though. Parking could be a nightmare, we were hidden away on the first floor, and being less visible from the street made it harder for people to find us. There was even a gate with a bell at the bottom that seemed to intimidate some people. Add the very lively pubs next door on weekends, and things could get very interesting. Still, Greenside gave us plenty of good memories and helped us figure out what we wanted, and didn't want, from our next home.
Parkhurst
2021-2022
Parkhurst was where it all started. We moved into our very first space in mid to late 2021, just as things were beginning to settle down after the worst of COVID. The space was big, probably a little too big for a brand new studio, and needed a lot of work. But we took it on anyway. We gave the place a complete facelift and slowly transformed it into something colourful, creative and much closer to the Dark Neon vibe we had in mind. It definitely had its challenges. We were tucked away from the main street, so walk-in traffic was limited, and being next to a small river made the space surprisingly cold. Eventually, rent increases brought our time there to an end. It may not have lasted forever, but Parkhurst was the beginning. It was the first place where Dark Neon became more than an idea and actually had a space to call home.
